A Message from Lisa

We were thrilled to have our largest ever sold-out crowd of 450 guests. Wasn’t it fun to have three generations of supporters – who love Baltimore, its parks and its people – all gathered under one tent for a lovely meal and, later, under a starlit sky to share in delicious desserts, music and good company. Our donors helped Parks & People Foundation set a new record of generosity for the event, raising more than $250,000!

At the event, everyone was moved by the video in which three of our high school students explained why working in our Branches internship program is a formative experience. We were also inspired by the words of The Sally Michel Award winners, Steve Salem, President of the Cal Ripken, Sr., Foundation and Calvin G. Butler, Jr., CEO of BGE: “Investing in our youth in communities that need it most will provide the foundation for growth and strengthen Baltimore.”

As the evening ended, I was buoyed up by a surge of hope that, when we come together to connect everyone in Baltimore to nature and to each other, we make our city healthier, safer, stronger and more fun.

Check out the photos from a fabulous evening.
