Exciting news! We are happy to announce that Parks & People has been awarded a $60,000 Environmental Education grant to fund our Branches program by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

“EPA encourages green and healthy school environments because studies show they positively affect attendance, concentration, performance and wellness of both students and teachers,” said EPA Mid-Atlantic Regional Administrator Cosmo Servidio. “This experiential learning program can tap into students’ creativity and also help them understand more about the value of integrating the natural and built environments in their community.”

This funding and the support for the EPA will allow us to reach and positively impact more Baltimore City high schoolers with Branches, our year-round paid internship and summer jobs program that creates the next generation of environmental leaders by providing paid employment and a pathway to green careers.

Thank you!
