On June 14th, Parks & People celebrated the newest addition to its campus – the Jean and Sidney Silber Center! Friends, supporters and project partners gathered to honor the generosity of Jean and Sidney Silber. Jean and Sidney’s lifelong dedication to Baltimore and their passion for gardening will live on through the Silber Center, the new home for Branches, Parks & People’s year-round high school environmental internship employment program.

The unique green modular building was generously donated by Building Design+Construction and traveled 39 miles to Baltimore after holding center court at U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC)’s Greenbuild 2015 Conference. The building showcases the highest level of green building and we can’t wait for campus guests to get a closer look.

Special thanks to the following for making this project and event possible: Jean and Sidney Silber, Building Design+Construction, U.S. Green Building Council, Ziger/Snead Architects, Morgan State University – School of Architecture + Planning, Modular Genius, Inc., Markline, Synthesis, Inc., Access Lighting, LG One, Nora, Dow Corning, Chicago Faucets, Valspar Paint, LaCantina Doors, MechoSystems, Modular Building Institute.
