Opera in the Park - Fall for Opera Community Event
On a sunny Sunday afternoon, the lush greenery of our beloved city parks came alive with the enchanting melodies of Opera Baltimore. The collaboration between Parks & People and this esteemed opera company brought together music, nature, and community in a delightful fusion.
Setting the stage at Parks & People
Parks & People is a nonprofit and community park in West Baltimore. Our mission is to improve Baltimore though green space and education. We build, beautify, and active parks, including our 9-acre campus located across from the Mondawmin transit station. The green campus holds towering oaks, winding paths, and blooming wildflowers. The Jean & Sidney Silber Center’s large porch provided the ideal stage for our opera performers. Guest took to the spacious green lawn on blankets and lawn chairs.
Community Building with Parks & People and Opera Baltimore
Opera Baltimore is an Artist-in-Residence at the stunning Garrett-Jacobs Mansion in Baltimore’s arts district of Mount Vernon. Their FREE “Fall for Opera” series brings the timeless beauty of opera to every corner of our beloved city. This collaboration between Opera Baltimore and Parks and People fostered an appreciation for both the arts and green spaces. Events like Opera in the Park and Wonder in the Park, strengthen community bonds through meaningful partnerships.
